Sauerkraut side dish
July 26, 2014
Sauerkraut is a fermented cabbage. Â All fermented foods provide lots of good bacteria for our digestive tract- a natural way to get the probiotics.

This recipe is modified from my mom's creation. Â Although there are many varieties of this dish and there isnt a wrong way to make it- I am posting here my favorite version:
Â
2 cups of sauerkraut ( best if it has carrots in it, or you can shred 1 carrot)
2 medium size apples- peeled and shreddeed
4-5 green onions ( white and green part) ( or 1/2 meduim sice red onion- chopped
 2 TBSP back sesame seeds
Â
Â
Mix all ingredients well in a bowl, serve as a side dish.
I love this dish so much I often just eat a huge bowl of it AS A MEAL.
